5 Monuments p/b BYT Announced

Overview

The indoor cycling season is well on it’s way. This can only mean one thing. More youth events on Zwift! We have been hard at work to provide the youth community on Zwift with a fun new event—5 Monuments p/b BYT.

Modeled after the real-life 5 Monuments of cycling, we created our own version for juniors on Zwift. These are longer one-day races that occur every weekend on Saturday’s at 8:30 AM PST. In order to participate, riders must be under the age of 17 as of 1/25/23.

Note: this is not a series, but the events are associated with each other. This means that there will not be a general classification, but rather a winner for each event. This page is interactive, meaning when you click on the title of each of the different races, you will see the details for the race.

Routes/Races
2/11/23 – Race 1: Flat is Fast // Greatest London Flat

The first race is a nice, flat race. This race will go by much quicker than it may seem because there are hardly any climbs. This is the perfect race to try some tactics and breakaways over the course of this 50 km+ event.

2/18/23 – Race 2: Cobble Crusher // Cobbled Climbs

The second race takes riders around the Cobbled Climbs course in Richmond 5 times – a rolling course with a few very punchy climbs in the mix. Who will have the guts to try an early breakaway?

Elevation: 1922 ft // 586 m

2/25/23 – Race 3: Mountain Madness // Achterbahn

The third race takes riders up a pretty tough climb in Innsbruck – Achterbahn. Achterbahn will tackle the Innsbruck KOM in both the reverse and forward direction – making it the longest route in Innsbruck. Over the course of nearly 50 km, riders will climb almost 1000 m.

Elevation: 3,192 ft // 973 m

3/4/23 – Race 4: Watopia Wilderness // Big Foot Hills(custom finish)

Finish the four races off strong with a rolling course, featuring a custom finish! This is a great course to try some breakaways and attacks on the various climbs and sprint segments. The route finishes atop the Titan’s Grove KOM Reverse, a short and sweet KOM in the Watopia National Forest!

3/11/23 – Race 1: Zwift Junior Championships 2023 // 2022 UCI E-Sport World Championships Course

The Zwift Junior Championship 2023 takes place over one lap of the 2022 UCI E-Sport World Championships Course. This course was used in 2022 for the E-Sport world champs on Zwift. Now, juniors will take the streets of New York and battle it out to the very end.
