Tour4kids is back! This time the race will be using a completely new format, we hope you enjoy it! Results: https://zracecentral.com/tour4kids-results/
Update: 11/12: We have received some reports of technical difficulties when trying to join these events. They don’t show up on the new home screen, so you have to start a ride then hit the “Join event” button in the bottom left hand corner. Make sure you load up Zwift at least 5-10 minutes prior to the start to allow for any game updates to install.

Registration
In November, kids from all around the world will gather on Zwift to join the event that only happens twice a year. To join in on the fun click on this link: https://forms.gle/swDNwJYeDEE4hswC7.
Info
This event is for kids ages 17 and under only. The race will be at 8:30 am PDT, on Saturday’s and Sunday’s. Convert to local time here. We do understand this time may not work for some riders, but it works for the majority of the Europe and America based riders(which is the majority of the event). If there is enough interest we may run another time zone for those in places like New Zealand, Australia, or Asia. Please leave a comment on this post if the time doesn’t work for you. Depending on how many we get I may run an Australia time zone.
This year we will be hosting two GC(General Classification) competitions. One will be time based, and one will be points based. The time based GC will have a higher value prize. The second GC allows riders who are unable to make all of the stages to still have a shot at winning a prize. The time GC winner will be the rider who finished the series in the least amount of time. The points winner will be the rider who finishes with the most points. All of the routes are around 30 minutes or less at race pace, obviously the Alpe will be slightly longer. This iconic event begins on Saturday, November 12th, 2022, if you can’t make it to some of the stages, that is ok, you can still jump in on the fun on the days that you are available!

This event will take place over 3 weeks. If you wish to participate, reading the whole post will be helpful. Please only fill out the google form once, unless you are signing up a sibling. This helps us with the roster and it helps us keep track of who is registered. The points go by whoever is fastest through the segment. There are two separate standings for sprints and KOMs. Discord server links will be on the official event listing.

Stage 2: Road Race – Crit City – 6 laps // November 13th
Stage 3: Road Race – La Reine – 1 lap // November 19th
Stage 4: Road Race – Bologna TT – 1 lap // November 20th
Stage 5: Road Race – Jungle Circuit – 2 laps // November 26th
Stage 6: Road Race – Road to Sky – 1 lap // November 27th

Points
Each race you will get points based off of your place, and your 5 highest amounts of points will be the ones added up to form your GC. This is a much easier, and better system than going based off of time as many riders can’t come to every stage. I’d be very surprised if you can come to every stage though! Throughout the race you will be able to accumulate points for the sprint or KOM. The rider with the most KOM points will be the winner for the KOM classification. The rider with the most sprint points will be the winner of the Sprint classification. Points will be given to the first 10 riders across the end of each sprint or KOM segment.
GC Points

Sprint and KOM Points guide:
1st: 10 pts
2nd: 9 pts
3rd: 8 pts
4th: 7 pts
5th: 6 pts
6th: 5 pts
7th: 4 pts
8th: 3 pts
9th: 2 pts
10th: 1 pt
Jerseys
Wearing the jersey if you are the leader of the GC or Sprint is 100% optional. Here are the kits that will represent each.

Prizes/Prize Drawing
For those of you who complete 3 of the 6 stages, you will be entered to win a custom water bottle with your name printed on it. The winner of the time based GC classification will have the choice of a Tour4kids t-shirt, Zwift water bottle, or custom water bottle. The winner of the points based GC classification will have the choice of a Tour4kids t-shirt, Zwift water bottle, or custom water bottle. Since entry is free for these events, we are unable to provide additional prizes for sprint and KOM classifications. However, the winner of each of those classification will get 2 additional entries to the giveaway, so 3x the chances of winning!
Rules
Results will be released within 24 hours of the event finishing. The use of a HRM (Heart rate monitor) is not mandatory and the use of ZPower is permitted. Make sure to have fun and keep this a friendly and welcoming race. Cheating and bad sportsmanship is not tolerated. To participate you must be 17 or under. Standings will be posted on a separate post that will be released a few days before the event. With that you should be all set and ready to go. Enjoy the race!
If you are looking for a supportive, fun, and well-organized team. I highly recommend joining Bikely Youth Team on Zwift Power: https://zwiftpower.com/team.php?id=4448.
The results are wrong – not based on real times. I was yesterday 5th (time 1:17:45) and last sunday 19th (time 26:40). On last saturday i did not know how to enter into event.
Are you talking about the race on last Saturday that the time in incorrect? If so, that is because you were given the default time which is one minute slower than last place. That time is given to anyone who does not complete the stage.
It does not matter but the other times are also wrong. Why the stage 4 was not uploaded on powerzwift?
I was away traveling for stage 4 and didn’t get the chance to upload the race. Something that you could do to help me help you with the incorrect times would be to provide your name on Zwift so that I know who’s results you are referring to. If you provide the name of the rider, I can go back and check the results to make sure the times are correct.
Just saying, I came second on the Petit KOM, so should i not have got 9 pts on the KQOM sector or does that segment not count
This is the image shown on the result post (https://zracecentral.com/tour4kids-results/#kqom)
So you believe you are missing points. Is that correct? If so, I’ll take a look and update that.
Ah. I just realized what I did wrong. I will aim to make time for this sometime this week
I might come next week
You should repeat this race – my son could not go into the race as more less most.
Hi, unfortunately technical difficulties do happen. We are unable to repeat the race but your son does still have a shot at the points GC as only your best 3 results count
We are unable to see an event on Zwift even though it does appear as entered in the companion app
the same
Hi, I am very sorry that your child was unable to join. Can you please describe this issue in further depth? I understand that you saw the event in Zwift companion, but when you logged into the game and started a ride, did you see an option to let you join the event?
Hi Oliver,
No worries, we did manage to get one kid in in the end but one missed out.
So both kids were entered using the links above and the rides showed as entered in the Zwift companion app, but were not showing on the Zwift app itself. Once we went into a free ride on the Zwift app (chose Makuri as this was where the race was), a prompt popped up on his companion app to join the event.
By this time it was 2 minutes to start and we didn’t have the companion app running for the other kid so time wasn’t on our side there! He also hadn’t updated since the last release so that took another minute.
So I’m guessing the ride wasn’t showing up on the Zwift app as it is a private group ride perhaps?
Hopefully the process of hopping into a free ride and choosing join event on the companion app will get us there for tomorrow’s race. I’m assuming it won’t matter which world we are free riding in, given crit city of hard to get to without jumping through a few hoops 🙂.
Thanks for your reply
In the bottom left hand corner of the screen, was there an option to “join event”? I was experiencing the same thing where I couldn’t join the event directly from the homescreen but once I went into a ride I could join.
Not sure, he saw the join event pop up on the companion app and hit that, so can’t recall whether a Join Event popped up on the Zwift app. I was trying to sort the other one so didn’t notice either sorry!
no event on zwift. I can not see it.
please look here:
It looks like you signed up correctly. When you went into the game and started a ride, did you see a pop up to let you join the event?
Hello, Where are the list of participants?
A list of participants will be available once the first stage is completed.
How many minutes before the first stage can you enter the race?
I’m can enter up to 30 minutes before the race starts
Make sure you have signed up for the Zwift event and not just the google form
Yes I am in. hope it will appear in the aplication.
I can join Stages 1-5 but not 6, sadly
There is no need to come to all the races.
I can’t race on sundays but I can do saturdays is that ok
No need to come to all of the races.
The dates given are Fridays and Saturdays, not Saturdays and Sundays. Maybe an error?
This should be fixed now.
