Overview
Zwifters love new roads, there is no doubt about it. We have not gotten any new roads since the Neokyo expansion in the Makuri Islands. Zwifters have long been awaiting the rumoured Mt. Fuji, but when could we see new roads?
When was the last expansion?
The Neokyo expansion was released in November of 2021, so at the time of writing, it has been over 8 months since the release. Typically Zwift tries to release new roads every 6 months or so, so it seems that we are due for some new roads. In April, Gravel Mountain was leaked, but there hasn’t been any news about the gravel world since.

New info
In the latest game release, version 1.27, Zwift stated that they are working on some big new things. This often means that Zwift is working on new roads AND some new content/features. I think that it is highly likely that we will see a small expansion in the next game release.
What new feature?
In the monthly ‘roadmap’ that Zwift has been releasing every month, Zwift has repeatedly stated that they are working on a new TTT/TT module, so that riders can warm up before their designated start time. In the latest update, Zwift said that this may be coming in late fall to winter, and initial testing is TBD. We also know that Zwift is working on adding new levels to the game, but it will likely be a bit.

What new roads?
Zwift has likely been working on a Mt. Fuji like climb to add to the Makuri Islands for a while now. It’s highly likely that we see a pretty decently sized climb added to the Makuri Islands in the next game release. We could also see a France expansion sometime soon, especially with Zwift being the presenting sponsor of the TDFF. It is also likely that we could see some new roads in Watopia. Watopia is currently the largest world in Zwift. There is no doubt about the fact that Zwift will eventually add some new roads to Watopia. We could see this as the next new roads after the expected roads in V.1.28.
