Zwift to Test New Pack Dynamics

Around a year ago, Zwift started testing the pack dynamics 3.0. The goal was to create a more realistic movement in groups throughout Zwift. This pretty much eliminated “Sticky Draft”, which was a welcome change.

With Zwift’s latest pack dynamics update, riders are going to be slower in a large group unless there is a rider pushing the pace on the front. This will make races more realistic and help breakaways succeed. Currently, if there is a large group of riders holding 4-4.5wkg, they will easily catch a lone rider doing around 5-5.5wkg.

The first opportunity to test this is going to be with this ride: https://www.zwift.com/eu/events/view/3176307. Zwift says that there will be more opportunities to test this soon, so stay tuned for more news coming soon!
